Textures of Your Autumn Wardrobe

As the year draws to a close, we must remember to enjoy the present as much as we can - in between the chilly, short days and dark evenings. So many of us are guilty of wishing away the cooler months, but this year we’re putting our foot down: NO. MORE.

Besides from lighting that candle, getting seriously comfy under a blanket with your fave tv show on, and going into full hibernation mode.. the best way we have found to grasp the most cosiness out of these days is with a sprinkle of indulgence here and there. 

Yes, you know what that means.. accessories!

Layers of Comfort & Style

There’s nothing quite like treating yourself to a new handbag, soft hat or scarf to boost your dopamine as the days get colder. It is UNMATCHED. Not to mention, absolutely necessary for survival. We may be biased, but here at PPL we believe the best way to elevate your outfit and feel put-together is by adding thoughtful, high-quality accessories. From luxurious leather to chunky knits, velvets and corduroys, to the soft, supple suedes - we are spoilt for choice.

We’re honestly not sure whether we are more in love with the maximalist texture vibe or the colour co-ordination this season! How must one choose? Can we have both?

The Beauty of Mixing Textures

Let’s indulge in the world of textures and accessories this A/W. We deserve it. 

Many of our well-loved trends have been continued this season, however with luxe, deeper-toned updates. Quiet Luxury is still going strong, along with Country Style; many being creative with their existing wardrobe staples and elevating them with unexpected textures, we are absolutely here for it. 

Fashion week AW24 displayed the combination of several fabrics you wouldn’t typically wear every day: silk skirts, sheer lace, knit on knit - it seems as though the only thing you could do wrong is play it too safe! Adding as much depth and character to your autumn uniform is the order of the season. One tip we will offer: pair chunky knits with a fine knit or more subtle fabric, avoid layering a chunky knit on top of other chunky textures.

Some Combos We Are Loving This Season

Some gorgeous colour combos we are swooning over at the moment here at PPL are (all of) the dreamiest shades of brown and camel, blue denim & brown suede, burgundy & slate grey, and last but certainly not least, brown & white. We know - white is a little controversial for autumn or winter, but you can’t deny how well it pairs with a dark brown jacket and blue jeans!
