We don’t know about you, but we’ve certainly been swept up in this summer’s trend of Raffia bags. Pom Pom London launched two gorgeous Studland basket bags which you have loved!

Raffia is a natural fibre, made from Raffia palm trees and originating from Southeast Asia, South, and Central America. As Raffia is natural, it does need extra love and care to keep its shape and quality.

However, it’s very durable as a material, so if you follow these steps, your bag should last you through many summers.

Some of the most common questions when it comes to caring for your Raffia bag have been collated by the Pom Pom London team along with our advice on how to keep your lovely bag maintained:

How do you maintain Raffia?

  1. Keep it out of direct sunlight or from getting wet: Raffia can become brittle as it is a natural fibre, so remember to keep it safe from too much sun or water.

  2. Store it carefully: Always store your bag when not needed using the Pom Pom London dust bags, in a cool, dry place. Using a soft brush, gently wipe away any dust.

  3. Watch out for clothes that rub: Colour can rub off onto Raffia, so always be careful it doesn’t rub too close.

If Raffia isn’t your bag (yes, we did just say that), then don’t worry – the Padstow is also here for your beach or pool needs. Our versatile tote comes in Navy, Black and Tan.
