Celebrating 10 Years of Pom Pom London: the Sapphire Blue Collection

A whole decade of defining our mission, our ethos and our products. Oh, how the time flies! Through all the trials and tribulations that life has thrown our way, we have fine-tuned who we are and what we do, time and time again. From where it all started in one of our founder’s family living rooms, to our HQ that now resides in our second office and warehouse - our team has grown from the original four in 2015, to now an incredible 22 of us, ten years later. Although many things have evolved, one thing remains the same: our commitment to creating quality products.

Whilst knitwear was at the forefront of PPL for the first five years, after the launch of our first crossbody bags in 2020, our journey swiftly changed direction. We continue to use full-grain leather to craft our handbags, wool to create our knitwear and release new shades and strap designs each season. At the beginning of 2025, we finalised our biggest transition yet: the addition of the central leather panel on the rest of our colours, signified by the refresh to the name Original.

So we are commencing our second decade and entering a whole new era. We are so grateful for all the people we’ve met along the way, the invaluable connections we’ve made and the inspiring collaborations we’ve worked on. Following our expansion in impact through working with Breast Cancer Now in 2022, we have witnessed unbelievable support from the wonderful community, as a result of the limited collections we launch each October for awareness month.

Our designers are dedicated to offer a growing variety of products for you all to choose from - so that you never have to compromise. Our goal is for every person with a PPL bag to feel as though it is uniquely theirs. What better way is there to represent our ten year milestone than to create a collection that is truly unique?

Introducing the special edition Sapphire Blue Collection. This deep, rich, metallic blue is now available in our Original, City, Mini & Plus styles. The Original will come with a dark blue Pom Pom, the City will be the first to include our latest tassel shape, 10th anniversary dust bag and distinctive gold commemorative tag to mark the occasion. A selection of six one-off straps are also available to match, along with a limited edition matching Metallic Leather Keytab.

This exclusive shade of blue has been six months in the making. The idea stemmed from the wild success of the Royal Blue from our King's Coronation Blue (SS23), with a helping hand from one of our founders, Harry, whose favourite colour is blue. After much discussion, our design process started with samples featuring a gold stripe, then a silver stripe, then finally testing the blue layered with a metallic finish. Many discussions later, approval was confirmed and we were officially allowed to get excited! Our customers have always been at the forefront of everything we do and are considered every step of the way, and this was no exception. The overwhelming support received for the special edition King’s Coronation Blue was what led our team to developing this shade, so we truly hope you can see the love they have poured into making this collection so distinctive for you.

The Sapphire Blue is not only aligned with our functional yet stylish standard, but will beautifully complement the wide range of blue straps in our collections, making it incredibly versatile. The metallic finish pairs well with our rainbow straps, if you’re looking for a little extra shimmer. The shade is a deep, blue that is reminiscent of tranquility, sophistication and nature. Whilst it looks harmonious with other blues or greens, it is striking against off whites or warmer colours such as beige, coral, or terracotta.

As we celebrate ten years of craftsmanship, creativity and community, the Sapphire Blue Collection stands as a symbol of how far we’ve come - and the exciting journey still ahead. It's more than a colour; it’s a tribute to our evolution, our loyal customers, and the passion that fuels every stitch, strap, and shade we create. Here’s to the next chapter, new ideas, and all of you who continue to carry us forward - quite literally. Thank you for being part of our story.
